This Wastewater Engineering role will include a wide range of tasks that require a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently, can prioritize tasks, and has strong organizational skills. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING…

• Naturalized, passive wastewater treatment design and modelling;

• Conceptualizing and developing solutions based on project requirements and company standards through creative problem-solving and triple-bottom-line perspectives;

• Aiding in furthering the development and implementation processes that improve MAGNA’s wastewater services to deliver quality outputs;

• Meeting MAGNA’s quality standards, processes, and methods while maintaining a working knowledge of relevant technologies and best practices and upholding federal, provincial, and municipal regulations;

• Monitoring industry trends and implementing appropriate strategies to keep production on the cutting edge while meeting financial goals and providing cost savings to clients;

• Developing, training, and educating new and junior colleagues;

• Acting as a technical liaison between customers, stakeholders, collaborators, and project team members; and

• Other duties as required.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO…

• Holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution;

• Is an APEGA and/or BCPEG member;

• Has expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook;

• Has strong personal time management skills;

• Has strong technical writing and presentation skills;

• Holds a valid Canadian driver’s license and reliable access to a car;

• Has their (Alberta) legislated Covid-19 vaccinations up-to-date and;

• Is eligible to work in Canada.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WHO HAVE…

• Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) certification;

• Experience with PCSWMM, Biowinn, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and/or GIS;

• Experience designing and constructing lift stations;

• Strong understanding of municipal engineering practices and processes;

• Strong understanding of wastewater management best practices and regulations;

• Experience working with Indigenous communities and;

• Strong project management capabilities.
