We offer innovative wastewater management solutions for communities of all sizes, with sanitary conveyance systems of varying complexities.
Balancing water demands of residential, commercial, agricultural, or industrial developments is a challenge every community faces. Green infrastructure solutions can naturally purify wastewater - turning conventional community waste into an opportunity for offsetting industrial water demand.
SUSTAINABLE
EASY-TO-OPERATE
MAGNA’s wastewater designs offer many benefits, such as reduced WWTF footprints, low complexity operator requirements, and lower operator class requirements. Low energy, low operation and maintenance (O&M) costs and no chemical requirements for self-regulating sites lead to the potential to eliminate major mechanical parts, reducing costs.
We aim to push the boundary of traditional technologies to provide cost-effective, low-maintenance wastewater treatment solutions. Our wastewater management solutions seek to protect the environment while converting wastewater into valuable resources and providing communities with a natural amenity.
REDUCED O&M
MAGNA’s designs are always unique to your project and fully scalable. We offer treatment for new developments and upgrades to existing ones while keeping the capacity for future developments in mind.
FLEXIBLE & SCALABLE
What is the MAGNA Biofilter Wetland System (MBWS)?
Leslieville Wastewater Treatment Facility - Clearwater County, Alberta
The challenge: Many small communities throughout Canada cannot afford conventional mechanical wastewater treatment facilities. These facilities, while technologically robust, are equipped with numerous expensive automated treatment processes, resulting in elevated capital and O&M costs, as well as requiring significant operational training. Conversely, individual septic tank treatment and lagoons often do not provide adequate treatment, increasing pressure on the receiving environment.
The solution: To provide a cost-effective and sustainable solution, MAGNA developed the nature-based patent-pending MBWS, which combines pre-treatment, engineered wetlands, and an option for gasification technologies to give municipalities a modular wastewater treatment solution. This system was developed in response to the needs of small Canadian communities that wanted a solution to alleviate the future cost of O&M.
