Ainsley Latimer, Administrative Support

  • Ainsley, started with MAGNA in a part-time administrative position while still attending college and has since begun exploring more of a marketing role with the organization.

    If there’s a problem that needs solving, Ainsley’s the first to raise her hand to volunteer. Using an expert-level knowledge of Excel, she uses this skill to her benefit when problem-solving using a logical yet creative approach. And if she can help a co-worker find an efficient solution with these skills – even better!

    When not at work, Ainsley is still problem-solving with puzzles or Legos, and in her downtime, she enjoys watching videos cuddled up with her dog.

Ajay Muthukumar, E.I.T., Civil Designer

  • Ajay was hired in late 2022 as a Civil Hydraulics Designer. Early in his role, Ajay expected to work exclusively with MAGNA’s stormwater team to design the hydraulics for stormwater projects. However, his unique skills have also proved valuable to the wastewater and project management teams.

    With a graduate-level hydraulic engineering specialization, Ajay has an evolved understanding of stormwater and wastewater treatment systems. He is also passionate about sustainability and seeks to use his skills to produce aesthetically pleasing high-efficiency infrastructure designs.

Ali Zambrano, E.I.T., Civil Designer

  • As a Civil Designer, Ali was hired with an initial focus on stormwater management reporting. She has moved upwards to project coordination, detailed comparative analysis, and technical report writing. Ali is also part of the Health and Safety Committee, working diligently to ensure a safe work environment.

    Ali’s easy-going approach has fit in seamlessly with MAGNA. Her passion and focus on helping to mitigate the climate crisis by challenging the status quo around stormwater and wastewater infrastructure have significantly contributed to supporting the communities we work within.

    Spending time with friends and family makes her heart full. She also loves trying different types of cuisine, spending time outdoors, and dog-sitting! Ali recently started working out at Orangetheory® and hopes including this in her bio will hold her accountable!

Anna Davison, MBA, P. Eng., Director of Operations

  • Meet MAGNA’s first-ever Director of Operations! With over 15 years of sustainability and operations experience, she’s hit the ground running in her first 90 days, diving deep into the company's dynamic operations. Her mission? To bring a fresh vision with data analytics and streamlined systems that enhance MAGNA's already impressive tools and solutions. Known for her collaborative energy and knack for pushing limits, she’s driven by a passion for building a team environment where everyone feels empowered and valued. Outside of work, she’s a world traveler, yogi, hockey enthusiast, and mom of two toddlers, discovering new adventures both near and far!

Anton Skorobogatov, PhD, Director of Innovation

  • Hired as a Research and Development Lead, Anton’s proven focus on looking at projects through a technical and strategic lens for MAGNA’s core services propelled him to lead Innovation Services.

    Anton is a big-picture thinker, problem-solver, and passionate advocate for creative and vibrant green infrastructure. In his short time with the organization, he found his skills complement MAGNA’s as they offer their staff and partners the opportunity and momentum to be leaders in green infrastructure implementation.

    Away from the office, it is with this same passion and creativity that Anton explores painting and various art forms, always inspired by the allure of nature.

Brad Cripps, P. Eng. Project Management Lead

  • Brad is a civil engineer and project manager, boasting over a decade of experience in diverse infrastructure projects. He excels in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously, adeptly adhering to budgets and timelines across various sectors, including stormwater management, water/wastewater treatment, and environmental compliance.

    Brad excels in high-pressure situations with tight deadlines and competing interests, demonstrating his ability to effectively prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities to team members as necessary to ensure project completion within established deadlines.

    During his downtime, Brad finds his greatest joy and contentment in the simple pleasure of riding his bike.

Chris Welk, Civil Designer

  • As a Stormwater Technologist, Chris brings diverse skills and experience to MAGNA and is keen and adaptable to help in whatever challenges the organization needs assistance with.

    Chris enjoys the nitty gritty of design and has used that detailed approach when working in the many facets of civil engineering, including private site design, subdivision design, stormwater management design, water/wastewater facility design, and engineering drawing and drafting.

    Flexible work and Fridays off mean more time with his family to enjoy a leisurely visit on the patio or something more active like camping, hiking, canoeing, or slow-pitch.

Corinne Brown, Office Administrator

  • Corinne has worked in various administrative roles across multiple industries throughout her career. Those experiences honed her skills in adaptability and set her up to shift and turn to support the recent growth and evolution of MAGNA.

    Living with intention helps Corinne be the best version of herself, ensuring she is true to her purpose and open to new opportunities. With a knack for creating simple efficiencies and intuitive solutions for projects, her passion lies in supporting teams to see plans come to life.

    When she’s not working with teammates to transform communities, you can find Corinne sharing a love of nature with her husband, visiting the mountains, or at a lake, fine-tuning her fishing skills.

Elizabeth Calvin, P. Eng., Wastewater Engineering Lead

  • As the Wastewater Engineering Lead, Elizabeth brings her integrated knowledge and curiosity to learn to MAGNA.

    Her wastewater operations and design backgrounds allow Elizabeth to create treatment systems with the end user in mind. Getting it right is important to her, so she leads with a detailed eye to ensure project success, ensuring MAGNA can continue to build upon their strong industry reputation.

    Always a prankster, keep on the lookout; Elizabeth's known to sneak a poop emoji into her presentations! Away from work, spending time outside camping, hiking, canoeing, rowing – anything in the woods or on the water, is what she enjoys the most. 

Erin Rehmann, Technical Designer

  • Working in technical and administrative positions for most of her career; at MAGNA, Erin has had the opportunity to grow into additional roles and assist with CAD, GIS, policy writing, website design and IT support.

    Needless to say, Erin admits that one of her best qualities is adapting to fit into whatever role requires her to support her teammates, with the ultimate goal of assisting them to complete a project successfully.

    Being outdoors, riding horses, and spending time with her dogs is what Erin enjoys in her downtime. She loves to travel to experience other cultures, especially their food!

Francesca Dupuis, BA (Hons), Document Services Lead

  • Francesca is a seasoned administrator with a wealth of experience in technical editing and contract preparation. She brings a proven track record of success to the environmental services and land development industries.

    As a British expatriate, she embodies the phrase "wearing many hats." Her responsibilities span across critical areas such as document control expertise, strategic grant support, and marketing proficiency. Francesca's dedication and diverse talents drive excellence in administration, foster innovation, and strengthen our brand from behind the scenes.

    Activities that bring Francesca joy outside of work include reading, indulging in British crime detective dramas, and enjoying leisurely outdoor moments, without the need for strenuous activities!

Hanan Ulusow, E.I.T., Civil Designer

  • From intern to EIT, Hanan has been with us since June 2024 (and interning long before that). She has evolved from learning stormwater management to taking on complex, detailed design projects. Always curious and positive, she brings innovation to every community-tailored solution and never shies away from trying new things. When not wowing us with her design skills, you’ll find Hanan climbing rocks or doing event makeup for friends and family. A true team player with a passion for positive impact, she's happy, resilient, and ready to break the status quo!

Jennifer Massig, P. Eng., CEO

  • After years of being employed in traditional engineering firms, Jennifer wanted more. With a vision to make the world better by creating unique stormwater management solutions, she launched MAGNA to give extraordinary minds an amazing place to work (and play!). Initially, a sole proprietor and now the CEO of a bustling 30-plus member team, Jennifer strives to provide unique and innovative solutions to her clients.

    Always eager to get her hands dirty, Jennifer isn’t one to hide behind her CEO title. She’s approachable, helps out as needed, and encourages everyone to bring their ideas to the table, no matter their position. She leads with positivity, understands that the culture is the heart and spirit of any organization, and leverages that into persuasive and purposeful project design.

    Like Jennifer's approach with her employees, she nurtures and supports her children at home. Her favourite activity is spending time with her family - watching them battle on a sports field or battle against her at a board game.

Jennifer Trzok, B. Eng., Civil Designer

  • Jennifer is a Civil Designer for wastewater projects. A fitting role, as her passion lies in protecting water resources and the environment by reducing impacts on the planet to benefit future generations.

    By nature, Jennifer’s curiosity to learn new skills, grow and develop has led her to the innovative infrastructure team, finding new ways to address familiar water challenges. Jennifer has gained valuable technical knowledge and a deeper understanding of critical project workflows in her short time at MAGNA.

    Her ambition should surprise no one. In her downtime, Jennifer not only plays and watches hockey (her favourite team is her hometown Calgary Flames), she’s an avid reader and speaks three languages.

Jessica Letizia, BSc., BApp., MEDes., Organizational Development Manager/Tech Services Manager

  • Jessica holds the bragging rights as MAGNA’s first official hire in 2018. With the initial role of GIS Lead, she quickly evolved to Technical Services Team Lead and subsequently to her current role of Organizational Development Manager, all while still leading Technical Services - she’ll be the first to say it’s complicated!

    Jessica inspires those teams through an empathic and hands-on approach. As a big-picture thinker, she always considers the audience and purpose of each project through a belief that every small action matters. While MAGNA constantly challenges her to learn and think creatively to solve problems, what means the most is how her values of transforming communities using an economic, social, and environmentally sustainable approach, all align with the organization.

    Away from work, she still enjoys creating and building. Give her your ‘garbage’ - scrap paper, magazines, and candy wrappers - and she will upcycle it into items of beauty like jewellery, and gift boxes.

John Bailey, MEDes., Environmental Designer

  • John has been a welcome addition to the MAGNA team as an Environmental Designer. His role has evolved and expanded to include technical drafting, research, development, reporting and project support.

    Inspired by nature, music, and design, John draws from these pursuits and his storied experience in detail-oriented design with native and resilient plants to address and solve problems that impact natural systems, including storm and wastewater management.

    One of John’s favourite pastimes is exploring outside with his son, ideally with a good cup of coffee. But be warned, a spontaneous dance party could break out, as John’s also an award-winning and accomplished DJ and producer. He also enjoys a good debate and has devoted time professionally and personally to advocate for better public policy.

John Gage, E.I.T., Resident Inspector

  • John has been shaking things up at MAGNA for just over 3 months, initially diving in as a resident inspector. While he's been knee-deep in engineering challenges, John's gearing up to conquer project management as he inches towards his P.Eng. designation later this year.

    He's all about the people at MAGNA, loving the vibe of teamwork that perfectly syncs with the company's mission. John's not just about technical prowess; his knack for building relationships, running projects smoothly, and chatting up a storm sets him apart.

    When he's not engineering brilliance, you'll find John dominating fantasy football leagues, hitting the 99th percentile on Yahoo. His secret weapons? Inspiration from his smart-as-a-whip wife and mom, who keep him aiming high in work and play.

Jordan Jarvis, E.I.T., Technical Designer/Construction Coordinator

  • During his first year at MAGNA, Jordan filled the role of site inspector, project coordinator, drafter, AND marketer and is keen to self-describe as a ‘jack of all trades, master of none.’ His attention to detail and diverse skill set has made him a valuable addition to the MAGNA team.

    While at work, Jordan’s greatest joy occurs when developing quality drawings, figures, or marketing materials and working towards a useful outcome for his team. This process has become even more meaningful for him since he helps create sustainable, green infrastructure to protect the environment.

    Away from work, Jordan’s creativity presents itself differently. He’s a gamer and a music lover, and if you want a glimpse at how talented he really is, ask him to sing!

Jordan Quick, P.Eng., Project Manager

  • Jordan has over eight years of dedicated experience in civil engineering and project management. She holds a broad and varied background that covers every aspect of municipal infrastructure projects, making her a valuable asset to the MAGNA team.

    Jordan excels at managing complex projects, prioritizing tasks, and delegating effectively. Her diverse portfolio includes infrastructure, environmental, and land development projects, with expertise in water treatment, community servicing, and environmental compliance working with both public and private sector clients.

    In her spare time, Jordan enjoys spending time with friends and her French bulldog Bo going on outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, or canoeing.

Joshua Koltusky, C.E.T., CAD Services Lead

  • Joshua was brought on to MAGNA fresh out of school and given one crucial task; to learn and become an AutoCAD expert.

    With this passion for discovery and knowledge, Joshua has expanded and grown his insight into several civil 3D functions that ultimately increase efficiency and solve problems for his teams. Having his designs come to life in real-world applications is his greatest inspiration.

    When not working to create design solutions, he’s happiest hitting the highway for a road trip with his dog ‘Jack’ riding shotgun.

Julian Botero-Artuso, E.I.T., Civil Designer

  • Julian recently joined MAGNA and is focusing on learning about all segments of the organization. He's directing his talent towards completing his first Stormwater Management Report and assisting with completing MAGNA's first wastewater treatment facility in early 2023.

    His experience designing wastewater treatment plants will play a significant role in his work at MAGNA. With a passion for fighting climate change and pollution, Julian’s most excited about using his expertise to provide a unique perspective for nature-based solutions to clean water versus conventional chemical solutions. This appreciation for sustainable development started at university, and he's eager to take his skills to the next level.

    Inspired by new opportunities, challenges and just plain life, Julian lives his 'best life' as a new Calgarian. It was love at first sight when he viewed and experienced the Rocky Mountains, and in his spare time is working towards perfecting his snowboarding turns.

Kelcey Miller, Civil Designer

  • Meet Kelcey, the Wastewater Civil Designer who has been dazzling us since she started. From day one, she’s been a beacon of reliability, curiosity, and focus and we love the way she’s always ready with a smile and an answer. With a knack for client-side experience, report writing, and critical thinking, she balances environmental outcomes with affordability like a pro. Outside of work, she’s an outdoor enthusiast and a secret disc golf maestro, even conquering courses in New Zealand! Inspired by passionate people, she’s a true gem in our MAGNA family.

Lisa Latimer, Corporate Services Manager

  • Since joining MAGNA as an Office Manager, Lisa’s role has expanded into a Leadership position supporting several areas of the organization, including HR, Finance, IT, and Health and Safety.

    It takes a rare individual to manage the unique challenges of overseeing several diverse groups. Lisa’s 20-plus years of experience, combined with her keen organizational and problem-solving skills, have been an essential facet of how MAGNA continues to grow and evolve.

    Outside work, Lisa can regularly be found on the beautiful Chestermere trails walking her dog Sophie, running, or spending time with her family.

Lynne Brown, Administrative Lead

  • Six months in and already running the show—meet our Administrative Lead, Lynne Brown! Jumping into a newly created role, she has helped shape the backbone of MAGNA's growing operations. With over 25 years of experience, her interpersonal magic and ability to navigate any personality makes her a team favorite. You’ll catch her soaking in MAGNA’s culture (and loving that 4-day work week) while secretly enjoying the unintentional hilarity of our CEO, Jennifer. When not organizing chaos, she is busy crafting, gardening, or DIY-ing her way through home projects, channeling her inner handywoman.

Logan Silveira, Civil Designer

  • Logan recently joined MAGNA as a Civil Designer. With five years experience as a civil and environmental engineering technologist, Logan embodies the essence of teamwork by actively contributing to project development, innovating processes, and providing support to colleagues.

    His calm disposition, communication skills, and technical proficiency make him an effective problem solver and a valuable asset to the team from the outset.

    Away from work Logan enjoys spending his time outside hiking and fly fishing in the summer, and drawing, painting, and cooking up a storm in the winter!

Lyle Thiele, C.E.T., Construction Manager

  • Hired as a Civil Designer contractor in 2017, Lyle enjoyed the work and the people so much that he never left! He is now MAGNA’s onsite Construction Manager.

    What sets Lyle apart is his 30-plus years of experience in civil municipal design. He prides himself on composing projects that, when transformed in the field, are completed with no issues or problems during final construction. Bonus points if it can be completed under budget!

    Even when away from work, Lyle’s instincts are still focused on tinkering and designing with an inherent interest in understanding how things fit and work together.

Matthew Mendoza, Technical Designer

  • Arriving at MAGNA with a drafting and design background, Matt plans to use his technical knowledge and background experience to grow within the company and pursue management opportunities.

    Matt draws upon his determination and resiliency to meet deliverables with quality and efficiency. Fueled with curiosity about improving the world, he relates to MAGNA’s mission of improving communities with innovative and novel designs.

    Outside of the office you can find Matt at one of two places. Either pushing himself at the local gym, or bartending as he is also a decorated mixologist.

Shannon Miller, Civil Designer

  • Meet our stormwater civil designer, Shannon, who’s been with MAGNA for 3 months and is already making waves (literally)! Whether she is modeling stormwater flows or coordinating projects, she brings a unique blend of organization, critical thinking, and coding prowess.

    From scavenger hunts in the office to rowing on the Glenmore Reservoir at sunrise, she's all about finding solutions—both in work and play. Passionate about creating sustainable environments, this driven, adaptable, and sociable designer is ready to tackle any challenge!
